The Difference Between HDFC Egro Vs. SBI General Health Insurance
The HDFC Ergo Optima Secure Plan proposes comprehensive coverage that includes hospitalization, pre-hospitalization, and post-hospitalization expenses. But remember that the pre-hospitalization expenses are roofed for up to 60 days before hospital admission and post-hospitalization expenses up to 180 days after discharge, all up to the sum insured. In addition, the policy pays up to the insured sum for all day care services, domiciliary treatments, donors’ expenses for organ donation procedures, modern treatments, and non-medical expenses. Moreover, with no restrictions on room rent, the HDFC Ergo Optima Secure Plan gives you the self-determination to select any room.
There is no limit on ICU rent and no provision for copayments either. However, an optional deductible is applicable under the policy, and you have the flexibility to choose from the following options: 25K / 50K / 100K / 200K / 300K as an option. Common medical procedures besides treatments, such as joint replacement surgery and cataract treatments, are not restricted under this plan and are therefore covered up to the sum assured. Notably, under this plan, specific treatments have a 24-month waiting time, whereas pre-existing conditions have a 36-month waiting period.
The SBI General Health Edge Plan delivers comprehensive coverage, including hospitalization, pre-hospitalization, and post-hospitalization expenses. Pre-hospitalization costs are covered for up to 30 days before admission, while post-hospitalization expenses are taken care of for up to 60 days after discharge, both in the sum insured. Additionally, all daycare and modern treatments are fully covered. However, it’s worth noting that domiciliary treatments, in addition to the expenses of donors for organ donation procedures, are not covered, and coverage for non-medical expenses is offered as an optional add-on and up to the sum guaranteed.
The SBI General Health Edge Plan also offers the flexibility to choose any room without imposing room rent limits. Moreover, there is no ICU rent limit or deductible under the plan. However, the plan has copayment options at 10% or 20%. The policy places no limits on standard medical treatments or surgeries, such as cataracts or joint replacement events; both are covered up to sum assured. However, it’s important to be aware that pre-existing conditions come with a 24-month waiting period, and the same waiting period applies to precise diseases.
